Started in 1994, this program was one of the first online MFAs in the country.This low-residency program requires a 10-day residency at the scenic Bennington campus, and all other classes are offered online.Students can gain experience by contributing to the GNU, the student literary journal, during the program.

Numerous colleges offer master’s in fine arts programs as an incubator of young writing talent.
