Prior to that, I graduated with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 2016, after which I enjoyed a brief stint at Exxon Mobil Corporation as a sales representative.
Project Link As a part of my undergraduate thesis, I develop a simulator for autonomous multi-agent exploration and path planning in unknown environments.
The code is initially developed for a Python Simulator, which is then used on a swarm of Turtle Bots.
Another prevalent narrative is that of Muslim grooming gangs targeting Sikh girls for grooming / conversion and these cases not being sufficiently dealt with by the authorities.
This narrative often feeds on existing historical narratives and more contemporary Sikh/Muslim tensions and has led some Sikhs to engage with far right representatives and organisations.Having mapped the various events that have taken place in Britain involving Sikhs, I found that the most frequently reported incidents of violence involving Sikhs have occurred against other Sikhs.In the immediate aftermath of 1984 some incidents of fatal political violence were committed in Britain by Sikhs supporting Khalistan, against Sikhs opposing it.The Astrobee is an autonomous free-flying robot developed by NASA to assist astronauts on the International Space Station. Our team at Michigan is participating this December with the ultimate objective of developing a fully autonomous surface vessel aimed to further the advances in oceanic exploration.Project Link A robust pedestrian tracking algorithm is implemented in this project based on Mask R-CNN, Optical Flow and Particle Filtering.The system is capable of single hypothesis tracking in difficult lighting conditions.In response to these incidents and reports, I led a research project to examine the idea, context, framing and realities of ‘Sikh radicalisation in Britain’.I gathered evidence from historic and contemporary media sources, academic literature, social media, internet discussion forums, ethnographic fieldwork and a series of semi-structured interviews.In November 2015 the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the UK.According to Indian media, during this visit he presented a dossier on ‘Sikh radicalisation in Britain’ to his counterpart David Cameron, which included information on Sikh groups in the UK trying to revive the movement for a separate Sikh state (Khalistan), providing training on how to make explosive devices (IEDs) and funding hate-propaganda against India.
